InSitu Remediation Services Ltd. (IRSL) is a Canadian company based in Burlington Ontario. IRSL specializes in the design and treatment of contaminated sites including emergency response, using in situ methods such as chemical oxidation, chemical reduction, aerobic and anaerobic bioremediation and groundwater/vapour extraction technologies. IRSL offers its clients high end advisory, design and implementation services that integrate various remedial approaches such as ex- and in-situ technologies. While many remediation firms tout their technologies and/or approaches as can address all impacts on sites the reality is that very few sites are remediated using just one approach. These sites tend to be remediated piecemeal which results in increased costs and time.

IRSL works with the site owner and consultant at the delineation portion of the program in order to gather the proper information needed for remediation and then will provide a clear and concise answer to remedial questions and costs even if remediation is not technically or economically feasible. IRSL staff have completed over 300 in situ programs as well as 65 ex situ programs ranging from surfactant flushing, multiphase extraction, vacuum enhanced free product extraction to bioremediation and chemical oxidation/reduction. IRSL senior staff have been involved in numerous “first applied” technologies in Canada and in the world including the first full scale PRB for heavy metal treatment, the first application of a self-sealing/self-healing liner system, the first non-research application of oxygen releasing compound and molasses in Canada amongst other technologies.
