Demonstration Overview:

The demonstration of slug test will be provided to participants. A slug test is a hydraulic conductivity test which is performed by monitoring water level recovery after the water level in a well is changed suddenly from a static condition.

The demonstration shows participants the design and performance of slug test. We will discuss and present how to be prepared for field work to conduct slug test; the deferent equipment required to create initial water level displacement; how to use and set up electric water level tape, pressure transducers and electronic data loggers to monitor the recovery; and how to download data, collect and record necessary information for slug test analysis.
